Mind Affliction: Pathetic humanity
20/03/13 || Cobal
I do have mixed feelings about this release. On one hand, you get heavy riffs and groovy moments that actually kick ass, and on the other hand… Well, let’s just say that it’s a failed attempt to go beyond the regular death/black metal album. There are several moments when these odd riffs appear. Not that I have anything against unusual riffage, but they simply don’t fit the songs and seem to have been artificially forced into them. Moreover, perhaps aware of their own inconsistency, these guys tried to legitimize it by repeating these unfulfilled sections to the infinite along the album. I’m sorry, even if you repeat a lie a thousand times, it won’t turn true. Add annoying hybrid pig squeals/shrieks on top of that, and you’ve lost me.
4/10: You can’t blame them for trying.
After going thru that crap, you most likely wanna read something way more interesting. You do, admit it.
